The Midnight Purchase began in late 2018 with songwriter Peña's abrupt return to Milwaukee, bandless, with a few hours of songs and a years worth of gigs already booked. Through the wonders of Craigslist it was that winter that the first iteration of the band was formed. Following the 2019 release of their first musical offering the band garnered much acclaim and some nominations in Milwaukee, including "New Artist of the Year" by the WAMI's and a win for "Folk Band of the Year" by The Shepherd Express's Best of Milwaukee Awards. 2020 and the quarantine offered the chance for Peña to reimagine the sound he wanted to create around his music and through a few years of playing in the local music scene he was fortunate enough to recruit the current line up, all musicians he admired for one reason or another.
After four years getting the pieces back together, The Midnight Purchase has now released their first full length album "Young/Naive" on Amazon Music, Apple Music, Spotify and all other retail outlets worldwide.
